More good news on horizon as new businesses and jobs – are heading to Hull developments

We were delighted to play our part at Garness Jones recently in helping a growing and ambitious Hull company find suitable new premises which will assist it in creating further employment opportunities in the city.

A key role as commercial property surveyors is understanding the exact needs of clients and having excellent knowledge of the local market.

This means not only knowing what premises are available, but also what is coming onto the market and what could be adapted to best suit needs.

It is this which enables us to identify the ideal locations and facilities for businesses which are either already based in the region and growing, and those considering moving in. It is a key role in retaining and attracting growing businesses to our city.

As has been reported recently in the local media, Global Life Distribution, which trades as Promis Life and currently employs more than 50 people in the city, is relocating to the refurbished Worx development on the corner of Beverley Road and Spring Bank.

The company, which opened in Hull in January 2015 and has been renting space in George Street from call centre ResQ, now intends to expand with the creation of another 50 jobs over the next six months – great news for Hull.

It is also great news for the Worx development, which is now close to being fully occupied with more than 300 people employed within the building on the corner of Spring Bank and Ferensway.

It now has a great mix of tenants, with long-established Hull businesses such as Arco and the Hull Daily Mail sitting alongside a 24-hour gym, a nursery and a new climbing centre which will open later in the year.

That development is testament to what can be achieved by repurposing a commercial building and working hard to find the right tenants. Long-established, leading names sit alongside growing businesses and those starting out.

Given our involvement on another major redevelopment – the £6 million transformation of King William House in Hull city centre – we can say with great confidence that more good news is around the corner for Hull.

As new artists impressions of the development have been released, talks with potential tenants are proving really positive and progressing well.

This is a development we feel will be a blueprint for the future in the city centre, offering a mix of residential, retail and leisure facilities.

We are now at very advanced stages of talks with operators of what will be ‘completely new to Hull’ retail and leisure businesses, and we are very excited at the progress made.

We will have more good news to follow – there will be more investment into Hull – and there will be further new jobs created.
